All clinic services are offered by doctoral students in our CPA accredited Clinical Psychology program, as part of their clinical training. All services are provided under the supervision of licensed clinical psychologists who are affiliated with the McGill Department of Psychology. Clinical supervisors are licensed by the Ordre des Psychologues du Québec (OPQ).

Video recording is mandatory for all sessions. Audio/video recordings of sessions are made for the purpose of therapist supervision. Recordings are destroyed when no longer needed for supervision and no recordings are kept after services have ended.

Sessions are scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Psychoeducational assessment sessions are typically scheduled in the morning, between 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Appointments are arranged at times that fit within the schedule of the student therapist and client. The administrative office operates from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Our clinic offers in-person services only. All appointments are held on site, at 2001 McGill College Ave.

Following the intake evaluation, the therapist proposes a treatment plan that will take place over a certain number of sessions. Therapists and clients collaboratively review progress, and, if further work is needed, therapy may be renewed for additional sessions.

The clinic operates during the academic year only (September to June), and therapy sessions do not extend into the following academic year, allowing us to provide services to as many individuals as possible.

Potential clients who have filled out a registration form will be contacted by a student therapist to schedule a screening call. After the screening call, the client will be put on the appropriate waiting list or referred elsewhere if we are unable to provide adequate services. Please note that we are unable to provide estimates of waiting times between registration and the screening call, or between the screening call and the first appointment. Wait times may sometimes be lengthy, depending on the time of year and availability of therapists.

Unfortunately, at this time, our clinic is not equipped to provide:

• psychoeducational assessments to children and adolescents who study primarily in French
• psycholegal assessments
• assessments for autism spectrum disorder
• vocational/career assessments
• psychotherapy services to couples
• psychotherapy to students who are completing a major or minor in Psychology at McGill University. This is to avoid potential conflicts of interest between the therapists and clients.

The clinic only accepts payment in the form of Interac E-Transfer. No other payment types are accepted.

Yes. Receipts are provided for every payment. All receipts are co-signed by the trainee’s clinical supervisor, who is a licensed Clinical Psychologist. Their OPQ license number is also present on the receipt.

Depending on the client’s individual insurance plan, services provided by our trainees may or may not be an eligible insurance claim. We encourage potential clients to check with their insurance provider prior to their initial appointment.

We offer a fee reduction for clients who cannot afford the assigned fee structure. You may seek more information about the fee reduction policy during your screening interview.

The clinic is located on the 5th floor of 2001 McGill College Avenue (Room 563) in Montréal, QC, H3A 1G1. It is a short walk from the McGill metro station. It is also accessible by several bus routes (e.g., 24, 144, 61, 168).

There is limited parking on the streets located around 2001 McGill College and parking availability is highly unpredictable. Paid indoor parking is available in the building and can be accessed via Victoria Street. Valet service is available during normal business hours, 6 a.m. to midnight, 7 days per week.
