Child and Adolescent Services

We provide psychoeducational assessments as well as therapy to support children, adolescents, and their families facing learning, emotional, social, or behavioural challenges. Our services are provided by PhD students in clinical psychology under the supervision of licensed psychologists.

Psychotherapy

We provide short-term, evidence-based psychotherapy for children and adolescents (ages 7-17) experiencing psychological challenges, such as:

  • Anxiety (e.g., panic attacks, excessive worrying, and social anxiety)
  • Low mood/depression
  • Self-esteem concerns
  • Social anxiety
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Perfectionism
  • Difficulties managing stress

We also offer behavioral parent training, an evidence-based program that helps parents manage child behavioral concerns (e.g., opposition) by teaching effective parenting strategies.

Fee: $40 per session

Registration: To receive a free screening call for child/adolescent psychotherapy, or behavioral parent training, click on the button below, to complete the registration form. In the event that a request is made on behalf of another person, the individual obtaining services will be required to provide informed consent for services. Please note that we are unable to provide an estimate of wait times for the screening call or for starting therapy.

Psychoeducational Assessments

We offer comprehensive psychoeducational assessments to children and adolescents ages 6-16 years who are experiencing challenges with inattention or hyperactivity, or other learning-related concerns (e.g., reading, writing, math difficulties). The assessor will choose a variety of scientifically-supported instruments to assess the child’s thinking and reasoning skills, academic skills, as well as social-emotional and behavioural functioning. When the assessment is complete, results are presented during a feedback session and clients receive a written report summarizing the findings. All assessments are conducted in English, and all reports are written in English.

Unfortunately, at this time, our clinic does not provide:

  • Psychoeducational assessments to children and adolescents who study primarily in French. French-language child assessment services are offered at UQAM and l’Université de Montréal.
  • Assessments for autism spectrum disorder
  • Psycholegal assessments

Fee: $1200; charged in two installments of $600

Registration: To receive a free screening call for a child/adolescent psychoeducational assessment, click on the button below, to complete the registration form. Please note that we are unable to provide an estimate of wait times for the screening call or for starting therapy.
