Alysha Ahmed

I am a fourth year undergraduate student at McGill, studying psychology with a minor in the social studies of medicine. I am very excited to be working with the King lab at the Douglas Institute for my thesis project. In the past, I have done research in chronic pain as well as in pediatric organ transplant outcomes. I plan to study the interplay between pre-natal maternal stress, heart rate variability, and depression/psychosis in adolescent Project Ice Storm subjects.

Other than clinical psychology, I am interested in the socio-demographic factors contributing to mental illness and disease in general. I hope to apply my experience in the King lab to a future career in medicine and public health.
