The trigeminal and dorsal root ganglia transduce sensory information from the environment to the central nervous system. Our work focuses on characterizing the molecular features of distinct peripheral sensory ganglia cell types across species, the gene regulatory mechanisms that establish cell identity, and how these processes change in models of chronic pain.
