Peer Pathways Program for Dentistry

Get from where you are now to where you want to be with an Individual Development Plan

Presented by myPath and hosted by the Faculty of Dentistry, exclusive for McGill graduate students and postdoctoral fellows in the Faculty of Dentistry.

An Individual Development Plan (IDP) is a tailored roadmap that helps you lay out a clear plan of action through self-discovery and reflection. The development of an IDP will help you set goals for short- and long-term milestones or achievements --- preparing you for academic, professional, and personal success.

The Peer Pathways Program will run for six weeks, from March 12 to April 9,  and will consist of:

  1. Three expert-led online workshops to guide you through the creation of your IDP:
    • Build Your Profile – Friday March 12, 2pm to 4pm
    • Brainstorm Your Future – Friday March 26, 2pm to 4pm
    • Create Your IDP – Friday April 9, 2pm to 4pm
  2. Two meetings with a small group of peers to share ideas, challenges and resources related to navigating graduate/postdoctoral studies and exploring career options with others also working on IDPs.
    • Participants will be placed into groups of three at the start of the series, and each group will choose their own meeting times: one between the first and second workshop, one between the second and third workshop.
  3. Ongoing independent reflection and activities guided by the myPath workbook. Continual reflection on your goals and progress is key to staying on track and achieving your objectives! Prior to the first workshop, all participants are asked to download a copy of the myPath IDP Workbook.
