June 30th is Queer Youth of Faith Day, celebrating young adults of faith from across the tapestry of the world's religions. Whether you identify with a particular faith or not, this special event at the close of Pride month offers a chance to learn about welcoming and affirming communities that seek to sustain our spiritual selves. In order to dive into the topic of spirituality and queerness, MORSL is pleased to present a few of our top picks for you to mark the day.

Queerology (all day special podcast)

The #QYFDay Special of Queerology features a panel of LGBTQ+ teens across religious backgrounds that celebrates the life, creativity, and gifts of queer youth of faith. The panel includes Ameera, a trans Bengali-American Muslim; Taline, a bisexual Armenian Christian; Daniel, a gay Jew; and Sebastian, a trans Christian.

 

The Queer History and Evolution of Metropolitan Community Churches (3 pm ET)

3:00 PM (ET) Panel discussion Want to learn more about LGBTQ+ history and the legacy of queer religious leaders? The Queer History and Evolution of Metropolitan Community Churches is a panel featuring LGBTQ+ religious leaders from various decades in modern American history.  Panelists will share their experiences leading a LGBTQ+ congregation during the height of the Gay Liberation Movement, HIV/AIDS epidemic, Black Lives Matter, and other intersectional justice issues today.

 

Advocacy in Action: LGBTQ Youth & Faith (4 pm ET)

4:00 PM (ET) GLAAD panel - register online GLAAD is convening interfaith leaders to discuss youth advocacy and ministry for a panel Advocacy in Action: LGBTQ+ Youth & Faith! Six religious leaders take on the spiritual issues facing today’s queer youth, the impact of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation targeting transgender youth, and best practices for holding sacred spaces for LGBTQ+ youth to grow into faithful leaders in our religions and our society.
