Terms of Reference

Mandate

The Faculty Leadership Commons (FLC) represents the Dean’s Leadership-level forum for consultation and exchange. Its main purpose is to facilitate networking, teambuilding and ensure timely communication of important Faculty and University matters with the Faculty’s academic and clinical leaders and administrative core leadership team. The FLC will give members the opportunity to provide informal advice and feedback to the Dean while also providing the Dean with a forum to keep the Faculty’s leadership up-to-date on a variety of topics. The FLC will also provide a forum for formal presentations by FLC members, University representatives, and other invited guests.

The FLC is advisory to the Vice President Health Affairs and Dean of Medicine and Health Sciences, who chairs the meetings.

The Deanery Executive committee is integrated as needed to the FLC meetings. There will occasionally be an FLC+ meeting that will incorporate the Administrative and Operations leadership of the Faculty.

The FLC is comprised of:

  • Director, Indigenous Health Professions Program

  7. Associate Dean, Education Technology and Innovation, Director of the Steinberg Centre for Simulation and Interactive Learning
  8. Associate Dean, Faculty Enrichment and Development (FacED)
  9. Associate Dean, Research
  10. Associate Dean and Director, School of Population and Global Health
  11. Associate Dean, School of Biomedical Sciences

Frequency and Format of Meetings

The FLC meets six (6) times per year, from September to June. Deanery meetings are integrated into FLC meetings as needed. An agenda is provided for each meeting, and minutes are recorded and distributed.
