General Description

Conwansville clinic under a Uniprix.


Location

This rotation site is shared between two establishments, the Cowanville Medical Clinic and the CLSC Farnham. Both Cowansville and Farnham are located in the Eastern Townships, about 90 km east of Montreal. The teaching site is located on the territory of the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) de l’Estrie.

Rotation primarily done in Clinic.

Trainees can be exposed to:
  • Internal Medicine consultations: in and outpatient
  • Hospital consults incl. ER/Observation, ICU, all hospital wards
  • Acute medicine clinic
  • Exercise stress testing

    Type of Lodging

    Lodging is provided by the establishment and is located at a short walking distance from the clinic.

    Trainees are lodged in a "Shared Apartment". Trainees have a private room and share common gender-neutral areas (bathroom, kitchen, living room).


    Lodging can be available the evening before the first day of the rotation.

    Trainees are expected at the Clinic at 8:30 am on the first day of their rotation.

    Please read the instructions for the apartment before rotation.

    Depending on the location of their base teaching site, each trainee receives a stipend to help pay for transportation costs.

    Trainees must make their own travel arrangements.

    To Cowansville

    Eastern Township Autoroute #10, take exit 74, then turn left on Pierre Laporte Blvd. and continue until you reach Principale street. The hospital will be directly across. The hospital is where you will get the keys to the apartment.

    To get to the Cowansville Medical clinic from hospital, turn right on Principale street till you reach Albert St. Turn right on Albert, the clinic is located a little further right, on your left, below the Uniprix Pharmacy.

    To Farnham from Cowansville

    Head southeast on Rue Albert toward Rue Principal. Continue onto Rue du Sud. Turn right onto Rue de la Rivière. Continue onto QC-104 O. Turn right onto Rue Principale E.  At the light, turn right to cross the bridge onto rue Saint-Paul, QC/235 N.  Destination will be on the left. The CLSC De Farnham, 660 Rue Saint Paul, Farnham, QC J2N 3B9.
