Rigaud Clinic


Location

Rigaud is located 70 km west of Montreal in the Montérégie region. The teaching site is located on the territory of the Centre intégré de santé et de services sociaux (CISSS) de la Montérégie Ouest.

Clinical Exposure and Learning Experience

Rotation primarily done in Clinic.

  • Trainees can be exposed to:
  • Home care/visits
  • Long Term Care Facility
  • Walk-in Clinic
  • Geriatric clinic at CLSC Vaudreuil-Soulanges

At the clinic:

  • 8 full-time doctors
  • Patient population of 8500, and walk-ins at clinic

Type of Lodging

Upon request, lodging may be available in-region within driving distance to the site. Otherwise, trainees are expected to travel morning and night.

If a trainee makes arrangements for their own lodging within the region, they may be eligible to a stipend (upon confirmation of location).

Transportation

A bridge with a church at the end of it.


Trainees can travel to the site by car or by bus daily. Trainees will not be eligible for stipends when commuting daily.

Trainees must make their own travel arrangements.

NOTE: For all students making their own arrangements. All students will be required to attend a mandatory Progress Test at the end of each block.

PLEASE do not make any travel arrangements before confirming the exact date of your test.


Traveling by Bus

A couple options are possible:

Option 1: Greyhound provides transportation service between Montreal and Rigaud.

Option 2: Transportation by bus with EXO is also possible.  Bus from Cote Vertu to Vaudreuil followed by shuttle from Vaudreuil to Rigaud   The bus stop is in front of the clinic.  If you do not pre-purchase a bus ticket, ensure to have exact change to pay bus fare.


Traveling by Car

• Rigaud is located off of highway 40, just 55 km west of Montreal (exit 12) and 120 km east of Ottawa (exit 9). At the exit, take route 342 (rue St-Jean-Baptiste) going west until rue St-Pierre (second traffic light). On St-Pierre, turn left at rue Hotel-de-Ville. The clinic will be located at this intersection.
