Exam checklist (Faculty of Science)
- Method of Exam Delivery: which mode of delivery are you planning? Please fill out this webform to confirm.
- Statement on Student Responsibility in the Completion and Submission of an Exam: include on myCourses or your website a statement affirming the need for academic integrity when completing and submitting an exam.
- By April 6 (date to be confirmed by Department): All exams should be proofread by the Associate Examiner and deposited with the Department
- Important note: when using myCourses you must ensure that the exam is not visible to students until the start time; please set the Restrictions option to reflect this priority.
- if you are giving a final exam using a pdf format to be distributed using the myCourses Assignment tool or via Crowdmark, send copies of the final and deferred exams to the Department Office; if needed the deferred exam will be used for the special exam session that will take place 7-14 May.
- If you are using the myCourses Quiz tool, input the questions and preview the Quiz for clarity and typos etc. Create a hard copy and deposit that with the Department Office. See
- If you are using other specialist software, please notify your Department.
- On the exam:
- Contact details: how can the student contact you during the exam ? What will be your availability during the 72 hour period?
- Associate Examiner: who is the Associate Examiner, and how can they be contacted during the exam ?
- Instructions to students: have you placed clear instructions for the students in the rubric of the exam paper ?
- Examination date: what is your exam date, and do you need to set a reminder ?
- Resources: have you specified which resources (eg open-book, course notes, myCourses page etc) the student may access during the exam ?
- Procedure for starting exam: how will your exam be officially started ?
- Procedure for accepting submissions: how will the students answer exam questions and/or submit scripts ?
- Procedure for ending submissions: how will you notify the students at the end of the submission period?
- Statement on Student Responsibility in the Completion and Submission of an Exam: include relevant components on the exam.
- On myCourses: Have you posted the same information as in 4. ?
- Questions during the exam: do you want to prescribe the types of questions you will answer during the exam ? How will you post corrections or amendments during the exam ?
- Marking arrangements: what marking arrangements have you made with respect to any other instructors on your course, TAs, or graders ?
