Learn how to build an effective EDI plan for funding applications
Monday, January 22, 2024, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. EST
Free virtual event; registration required.
Equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) are key contributors to research excellence. To ensure the most impactful research is supported, many funding programs have integrated evaluation of EDI practices in proposed research projects and team environments.
Join Falisha Karpati, PhD, for this 2-hour virtual workshop to learn tips and strategies for fostering EDI in your research context and discussing EDI concepts in your funding applications. The workshop will be interactive and include a speaker presentation, guided individual reflection and (optional) small group discussion.
By the end of the session, participants will be able to:
- Describe why funding programs now regularly evaluate EDI practices in research projects and teams and how this benefits the research community and public.
- Identify common pitfalls in the EDI sections of grant applications and adopt strategies to avoid these pitfalls and improve their applications.
- Reflect on the EDI practices they are currently implementing in their projects and teams and identify impactful practices that they could begin implementing in the near future.
