Equitable Hiring Practices
Applying equitable hiring practices to the recruitment process leads to a more diverse and representative workforce. This workshop is intended for HR professionals, hiring managers/committee members, and anyone interested in developing capacity in equitable hiring practices.
By attending this workshop, participants will be better able to:
- Understand the context, commitments, and policy/legal frameworks of employment equity at McGill
- Develop steps for an effective, strategic, and equitable search for staff that leads to the hiring of excellent candidates
- Identify and address barriers at all stages of the search, including in job descriptions, sourcing/recruitment, screening, interviews, assessments, offers and onboarding
- Receive guidance on how to apply the equivalency class protocol to the hiring process
