This practical workshop introduces simple ways to make slide decks more accessible to a wide range of audiences, including people with disabilities. Participants will learn how to spot common accessibility barriers in presentations and how to address them using straightforward techniques in PowerPoint. The session will cover practical tips on slide structure, colour contrast, text readability, images and alt text, as well as built-in accessibility tools. By the end of the workshop, participants will have concrete strategies to create presentations that are clearer, more usable, and more inclusive.

By attending this workshop, participants will be better able to:

  • Recognize common accessibility barriers in slide presentations.
  • Apply accessible design principles to create more inclusive PowerPoint presentations.
  • Use PowerPoint accessibility tools to identify and address accessibility issues.
  • Evaluate and improve slide decks using accessibility best practices.
