Emergency Services

If you have a dental emergency, you must seek care at the Montreal General Hospital (MGH).

  • The Emergency clinic is open from Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
  • Please call 514-934-8063 for any dental emergency.
  • Patients are triaged and seen in order of priority. Waiting time is variable and based on the severity of the problem.
    - Priority #1: acute pain, swelling, bleeding or a recent injury
    - Priority #2: continuous “intense or moderate” pain in jaw, mouth or teeth
    - Priority #3: intermittent pain
  • Please note that we do not repair broken dentures.
  • Should you have an emergency after opening hours, please contact the MGH emergency department or proceed to its emergency department for triage prior to communication with an on-call dental resident.
