Associate Membership offers students the opportunity to belong to Canada’s chartered management and leadership association during their studies.

In 2020, the McGill School of Continuing Studies announced that graduates of the Diploma in Management: General and the Diploma in Management: International Business Concentration, would be eligible to attain the prestigious Chartered Manager (C.Mgr.) designation. After careful review, CIM | Chartered Managers Canada has recently announced that students enrolled in National Centre for Management Accreditation (NCMA) Nationally Accredited programs like these can now become Associate Members of the CIM free of charge.

“This accreditation speaks to the position of McGill University as a leader in the field of business and management education,” said Dr. Matthew Jelavic, C.Mgr., Chief Executive Officer at CIM | Chartered Managers Canada.

Students in McGill’s Diploma in Management: General and the Diploma in Management: International Business Concentration automatically meet the academic requirements of Chartered Manager (C.Mgr.) designation. Graduates from these programs are also offered an exemption through the completion of the Management Aptitude Evaluation (MAE), but must still demonstrate managerial experience.

Associate Membership offers students the opportunity to belong to Canada’s chartered management and leadership association during their studies. Associate members can also take part in networking events as well as important professional development opportunities to launch or further their careers in the field of management.

About the McGill’s Diplomas in Management

McGill offers two programs which have been awarded this distinguished status— two of only a select few in the world. McGill’s Diploma in Management: International Business Concentration is a graduate-level program designed to prepare students for positions in management, marketing, finance, and other fields in organizations that have a multinational presence. Taught by expert business and management professors and practitioners, the 30-credit program consists of 10 courses that cover the full spectrum of international business topics, including international finance, global marketing, cross-border relations and import/export rules, regulations and best practices. Much like its International Business counterpart, McGill’s Diploma in Management: General is a 30-credit, graduate-level program designed to prepare students for positions in management in a variety of industries. Students can attend both programs on a full- or part-time basis, with evening classes tailored to fit the busy schedule of working professionals.
