Macdonald Homecoming on October 26th was another success with alumni reconnecting with old friends, learning about some of the interesting research undertaken in the Faculty, meeting engaged students, attending a logger sport demonstration and taking a campus tour. This October, we were pleased to celebrate our first in-person Homecoming since 2019, a terrific occasion for us to re-engage with our alumni “in real life.” Homecoming is always a great time to reminisce, expand your network, and to reengage with your alma mater and it was great to be back in person! This summer the McGill Sustainability Projects Fund (SPF) turned ten years old and it marked the occasion by giving the 130 year old Redpath Museum some funding help. Thanks SPF for subsidizing our new outreach project to create a "Museum in a Box" and for help to buy photography equipment so that we could create virtual StoryMap tours such as the McGill Tree Tour and the McGill Stones and fossils tour.

Congratulations to Justin Chang (Auclair group), Pierre-Olivier Ferko (Moores group - Photo), Samantha Gateman (Mauzeroll group), Igor Huskic (Friscic group), Victoria Jackiewicz (Arndsten group) and Siting Ni (Lennox group) for winning the first McGill University Chemistry Outreach Awards. From helping to found the Outreach group to getting students of all ages excited about Chemistry, these trainees have worked hard to communicate science to the general public in a fun, safe and engaging way.
