Follow-Up

Follow-up visit(s):

If a follow-up appointment is necessary for any reason, the Genetic Counsellor will arrange for this through the secretary. In most cases, she will mail an appointment slip to you.

Timeline:

If you have decided to undergo genetic testing, the date of your follow-up visit will depend on the estimated time needed to obtain your results.

If after meeting with the Genetics team, your family history changes and there is a new cancer diagnosis, it is important to speak with your Genetic Counsellor. Your Counsellor will be able to re-evaluate your situation and check if your eligibility for testing has changed, in which case you may be asked to return.
