Luani Godoy

Luani R. Godoy completed her Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology at the Federal University of São Carlos, Brazil, in 2019. During her undergraduate studies, she conducted research on a new ruthenium complex for potential breast cancer treatment. Additionally, she participated in an undergraduate exchange program for 5 months at the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. In 2020, Luani started on her Ph.D. in Molecular Oncology at Barretos Cancer Hospital. Her Ph.D. research primarily focuses on the study of HPV and its association with cervical cancer. Her project involves a comparative analysis of two commercial HPV tests and the utilization of DNA sequencing data to investigate HPV polymorphisms in diverse populations and across varying grades of cervical lesions. To help to analyze all these data, she has a collaborative partnership with the Division of Cancer Epidemiology, where she spent 10 months during her Ph.D. exchange.
