BCCR Case-Control Study

The Biomarkers of Cervical Cancer Risk (BCCR) study is a population, hospital-based case-control study carried out in Montreal, Canada (2001-2004). Histologically-confirmed cases were recruited at the collaborating hospitals’ colposcopy clinics among women attending the clinic for a suspected high-grade lesion based on abnormal cytology results. Controls were selected among women who were presenting for their annual cytology with no previous cervical abnormalities.
