Bio: Professor Johnsrude is an accomplished cognitive neuroscientist and academic leader. She earned her PhD in clinical neuropsychology from McGill University (advised by Brenda Milner), followed by a Wellcome Trust Fellowship at the Functional Imaging Laboratory (UCL) and a research scientist position at the MRC Cognition and Brain Sciences Unit in Cambridge, UK. Recruited to Queen's University as a Canada Research Chair (2004), she moved to Western University in 2014. Professor Johnsrude is a recipient of awards including a prestigious NSERC EWR Steacie Fellowship (2009). Her trainees hold successful positions across academia, industry, and healthcare. She has held significant leadership posts at Western, beginning as Director of Western’s Brain and Mind Institute, and later serving as the unanimously selected Chair of Psychology. She also serves in a thought-leadership role for a research unit within Demant A/S, a global hearing healthcare company. Her success in these roles stems from her consultative vision and commitment to improving institutional systems to enhance well-being, reputation, and scholarly impact.
