Minors in the Department of Animal Science

If you are not enrolled in the B.Sc. (AES) degree, but are interested in concentrating in some areas of Animal Science, you make opt to take one of our Minors to complement your program. These include:

  • Minor in Animal Biology

    The Minor in Animal Biology is intended for students who wish to gain some experience in the basic biology of large mammals and birds and/or in animal biotechnology.

  • Minor in Animal Health & Disease

    The Minor in Animal Health & Disease is intended for students who wish to understand general animal physiology and function, the susceptibility of animals to various diseases, methods for limiting and controlling potential outbreaks, and the resulting implications for the animal, the consumer and the environment. It is an ideal choice for students interested in the care of animals, or in working in laboratories where diseases are being researched.

  • Minor in International Agriculture

    The Minor in International Agriculture is intended for students who wish to acquire a global understanding of agriculture as a central mechanism to help rural development, alleviate poverty and reach food security, especially in the developing world.
