Stephanie Anderson is currently a SSHRC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University. A specialist in contemporary art, labor, and critical museum studies, she received her PhD in Art and Visual Culture from Western University in 2021. Her dissertation, titled (End)Zone and (Out)Fields of Production: Contemporary Conditions of Labor and Artistic Critique, explores the relationship between artistic labor and recent forms of capitalist production, especially through the self-reflexive exploration of global labor politics in contemporary conceptual and performance art. Her postdoctoral project, supervised by Dr. Christine Ross, focuses on the relationship between time-based artistic practices and the politics of carcerality in a subset of post-1960s North American art. Her writing at the intersection of performance, labor, and museum studies has been published in international journals such as Textile: The Journal of Cloth and Culture and The Journal of Canadian Studies.
