Martin Bonnard

Martin Bonnard Martin Bonnard is an FRQSC Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Art History and Communication Studies at McGill University. His doctoral thesis in communication (Université du Québec à Montréal) deals with the actualization of the cinema experience by cinephile SVOD catalogs. His postdoctoral research, under the supervision of Professor Christine Ross, aims to situate the digital circulation of cinema in the broader history of automation by studying two key moments: the institutionalization of cinema and the advent of television. Interested in the aesthetic and technological aspects of the materiality of moving images, he also works on transmedia documentary storytelling (through the research group labdoc at UQAM) and has contributed to several research webdocumentaries.
