McGill community members are now eligible for a 10% discount toward seasonal memberships for the BIXI bike-share program. This year's season runs from March 30 to November 15, 2026.
The BIXI network is comprised of over 12,600 bikes, which includes 2600 electric bikes, and 1000 stations spread out across the areas of Montreal, Laval, Longueuil, Sherbrooke, Westmount, Ville Mont-Royal, Montréal-Est, Boucherville, Sainte-Julie, Saint-Lambert, Terrebonne, Saint-Eustache and Deux-Montagnes. How to obtain the discount
New subscriber to BIXI
To obtain the 10% discount for your seasonal BIXI membership for 2026, please visit the BIXI - McGill University web page.
Click "Subscribe" go to "Group Discounts" and check your eligibility. Then choose a group by scrolling to "Mcgill University" and then
Enter BIXIMTL2026McGill for a seasonal membership in the text box under Program code, then click on VERIFY.
You should then see a verification confirmation at the top of the Profile & Membership page.

Please follow the instructions on the BIXI website to complete the purchase of your membership.
BIXI membership renewal
To obtain the 10% discount for your seasonal BIXI membership for 2026, please visit Bixi.com and click on the My BIXI space page to access your renewal. Click on Renew memberships in the menu on the left-hand side of the page.
Click on Check your eligibility under Group Discount and select McGill University from the list, then enter BIXIMTL2026McGill for a seasonal membership as the program password. (The promotional code will only be active on Marc 30, 2026)
Please follow the instructions on the BIXI website to complete the membership renewal.
*IMPORTANT: The 10% discount will be applied automatically to the regular price of a seasonal BIXI subscription. The discounted price for a seasonal membership is $104.00 plus applicable taxes. Payment is by credit card only. The discount is not applicable toward monthly memberships.
This discount cannot be combined with any other promotional offer. Only one subscription per person is permitted. If you have already registered for or renewed your BIXI membership this year, you can call customer service at 1-877-820-2453 and will be reimbursed the 10% discount.
The seasonal membership code is valid until May 31, 2026.
