The McGill student population is extremely diverse: of our almost 40,000 students, 27% are international representing 147 countries! Our Summer Academy Team leaders are chosen from this diverse group of students, and they'll be there to help you experience what it's really like to be a student at McGill.
McGill has two campuses, our Downtown Campus in the heart of Montreal, and the Macdonald Campus - our suburban campus - located 30 minutes from downtown Montreal.
Summer Academy will take place on the Downtown Campus, but we'll make sure you have the chance to explore the Macdonald Campus during your stay.
Montreal is in the traditional territory of the Anishinabeg and Haudenosaunee nations. It has been a meeting place for different Indigenous groups and settlers for centuries. You’ll find a rich history across the city, and hear Montrealers speaking all kinds of languages, from Inuktitut and Spanish to Creole and Chinese. Multilingual, creative and bursting with culture, Montreal earns its stripes as one of the best student cities in the world.
As part of Summer Academy, you'll have the chance to explore Montreal's lively neighborhoods including our famed Old Port with its cobblestone streets, the Plateau with its amazing food, architecture and murals, the Quartier des spectacles - hub of Montreal's summer-long festival season, and so much more!
