The Naso Organization for the Sustainable Development of Ecotourism (ODESEN by its spanish acronym) operates Wekso Ecolodge located on the border of La Amistad Biosphere Reserve, in Bocas del Toro, Panama.
With support from Conservation International (CI) ODESEN has converted a former U.S.-Panamanian jungle training camp into an ecotourism enterprise.
William Friar, author of Moon Handbooks Panama, (2006) includes Wekso in his list of "Must-See" Panama destinations:
"A visit to Wekso is one of the most memorable experiences Bocas del Toro has to offer, and it makes for a nice change of scene for those getting island fever in the archipelago. It’s a reasonable and accessible trip for those with the slightest sense of adventure, an interest in indigenous cultures, and a desire to explore a bit of tropical forest in rustic but relatively comfortable conditions."
