Key Learning Outcomes

At the end of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Apply best practices for securing cloud services and infrastructure.
  2. Comprehend the principles of operational technology and control systems.
  3. Identify and mitigate vulnerabilities in industrial and OT environments.
  4. Implement security controls specific to OT and critical infrastructure.
  5. Analyze and interpret threat data to inform security strategies.
  6. Develop actionable threat intelligence for proactive defense.
  7. Utilize threat modeling and analysis techniques to predict potential attacks.
  8. Conduct rigorous security testing for applications.
  9. Develop applications with secure coding practices.
  10. Execute effective incident response strategies.
  11. Perform digital forensic analysis to investigate cyber incidents.
  12. Employ AI and machine learning techniques for cybersecurity applications (This learning outcome is applicable after launching the Master's degree in Cybersecurity Analytics, which is pending approval)

Program Requirement

All students are required to take five 3-credit courses. The program is offered on a part-time schedule that can be completed within 10 months. Typically, students take two courses in Fall, two courses in Winter, and one course in Summer (2 months). Please see the course page for more information.

All 15 credits of coursework must be completed at the School of Information Studies; no transfer of credits from other units or institutions are available for this program.
