12th annual QICSS New Researchers Conference

Taking place on April 2nd, 2019, the event titled "Data Science and Social Statistics: Expanding the Frontiers of Knowledge" was a significant gathering. Organized annually as a platform for the upcoming generation of social statistics experts to connect, the 2019 QICSS New Researcher Conference aimed to offer a comprehensive overview of the current landscape of social statistics science.
Distinguished speakers from various disciplines, including sociology, demography, criminology, epidemiology, applied economics, social and preventive medicine, and environmental studies, converged at the École de technologie supérieure. This conference provided a platform for 12 researchers to showcase their latest findings. Notably, two presenters were honored with awards for their outstanding presentations.
This annual event serves as a crucial opportunity for young academics to share their research with an audience, marking one of their initial experiences in such a setting. The multidisciplinary nature of the event further facilitates cross-field knowledge exchange, making it an invaluable occasion for gaining insights into diverse realms of social statistics research.
