To apply for this non-ministry funded position, you must meet the conditions below:
a) Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada graduate of a Canadian Medical school (outside of Québec ) or a US Medical School
b) Hold an acceptable scholarship

Training Start Date: All programs start on July 1st
Once you have all of the documents listed below, you can apply via the McGill On-Line Application Form.
Some forms may be uploaded with your application and others may not. Check the list to see if the documents are marked ‘Upload’ or ‘Do not upload.’
LIST OF DOCUMENTS
- COPY of your medical degree
- Medical School transcript (ONLY for applicants to entry level residency programs).
- Three signed reference letters on institutional letterhead: These must be sent directly by email to pgmedoc [at] mcgill.ca from the referees to the PGME Office (in PDF format). All reference letters are confidential (cannot be disclosed to candidates) and no more than 2 year old. (Do not upload)
- CURRICULUM VITAE/RESUME
- PERSONAL STATEMENT: clearly outlining why you wish to apply to the program.
- COPY OF PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: Please consult the following link to determine which legal documents. You must inform the University of any changes regarding legal status in Canada.
- COPIES of your certificates: USMLE exams (steps 1 and 2) and/or the exam of the Medical Council of Canada (MCCEE and/or MCCQE1).
- SPONSORSHIP LETTER: Proof of scholarship granted by a government, a scientific/ international organization, a university, or faculty of medicine. All other scholarships will be refused.
- OFFICIAL COPIES of attestations/in-training evaluations for all previous postgraduate training describing the rotations you have completed and your overall performance in the program, including mention of any leaves. The start and end date must be clearly specified for each discipline. It must be signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, or by the Chief Executive Officer of the institution or by the residency program director. NOTE: In the event that your institution does not have attestations/in-training evaluations, a letter MAY suffice as acceptable at the discretion of our office. These must be sent directly to the PGME Office by email to: pgmedoc [at] mcgill.ca by the program/site director's office or home faculty - DO NOT UPLOAD
- SPECIALTY CERTIFICATE: Applicants for subspecialty training must provide a copy of their specialty certificate. NOTE: Candidates registered in residency programs in Canadian Medical Schools and/or U.S Medical Schools and applying to subspecialty programs are exempted from this requirement.
Only official copies or photocopies of documents will be accepted. Incomplete files will not be considered.
**Documents submitted to McGill University in support of an application to be admitted, including, but not limited to transcripts, diplomas, letters of reference and test scores (in paper or electronic format), become the property of McGill University and will not be returned to the applicant or forwarded to another institution.
