Biography: 

Dr. Isabelle Gagnon completed her Physiotherapy degree at McGill and then went on to complete a PhD in Biomedical Sciences at Université de Montréal as well as post-doctoral fellowships in Program Evaluation and Health Administration. Throughout this training, she maintained clinical physiotherapy activities at the Montreal Children’s Hospital and continue to do so to this day. Dr. Gagnon is a Professor of Pediatric Physiotherapy at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy but my research activities have focused on outcomes and rehabilitation interventions after traumatic brain injuries, a population whose initial contact with our institution is in the Pediatric Emergency Department.

  • Develop and evaluate innovative interventions for Traumatic Brain Injury/Concussion  
  • Examine and evaluate how health services organisation and delivery can optimize outcome after injury in children and adolescents  
  • Physiotherapy interventions for various pediatric conditions
