What is Cellulite?

The majority of people have cellulite to some degree. However, women are more susceptible to cellulite than men due to the presence of female sex hormones: estrogen and progesterone. In addition, there are other factors such as the septae structure differences in women than in men. Septae is a mesh-like fibrous connective tissue that is present directly underneath the skin. In women, the septae are mesh-like which have a higher tendency of trapping fat cells, unlike the men’s where the septae are smooth. Other factors that may lead to having more cellulite include stress, smoking and poor circulation due to a sedentary lifestyle. There are ongoing treatments for the temporary decrease of cellulite. However, most agree that the best approach in reducing cellulite is consuming a healthy diet and exercising regularly, or just accepting your body how it is.
