SciLearn Guest Lectures

Undergraduate students in select Science courses are invited to attend our guest lectures offered throughout the academic year. In partnership with course instructors, we deliver an in-class lecture on evidence-informed learning strategies that have been handpicked to support student success in the course. To recognize their participation, students receive a small incentive (e.g. a 1-2% bonus or participation grade) for attending the lecture and completing any required activities. These guest lectures are only the beginning – we hope students will try out these strategies throughout the semester at SciLearn Peer Collaboration!

Why attend a SciLearn Guest Lecture?

Learn How the Brain Works
Under the guidance of our neuroscientist-lecturers, you'll learn how neuroscience underlies and motivates a variety of approaches to learning. For example, we show you how you can hack your brain by understanding the basics of memory and retrieval practice.

Equip Yourself with Practical Strategies
Choose from a suite of handpicked strategies to build your learning toolkit! You'll learn the fundamentals of "atomic habits" and identify strategies that might work for you. Retrieval practice, note-taking, and napping are a few examples!

Be Recognized for Learning
When you attend a guest lecture, you may be eligible to receive a participation grade or bonus percentage. More information will be shared by your course instructor!
