The McGill Faculty of Management will inaugurate the University's week of convocation ceremonies by conferring an Honorary Doctorate of Laws on Mr Laurent Beaudoin, former chairman and chief executive officer of Bombardier Inc. During his tenure at Bombardier, Beaudoin directed its growth from a small family-owned company to a multi-billion-dollar manufacturing conglomerate with a presence on five continents. The Faculty of Management convocation will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, June 2, in the R.H. Tomlinson Fieldhouse, 475 Pine Avenue West. Background information about honorary doctorates and emeritus professors is available on the McGill Reporter website.

At 7:00 pm, on the same day and at the same location (except for the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, which will hold its ceremony on the Macdonald Campus, all convocations will be held in the R.H. Tomlinson Fieldhouse), the Centre for Continuing Education will confer an Honorary Doctorate of Science on Mr Georges Brossard, founder of the Montreal, St. John's (Newfoundland), New Orleans and Shanghai insectariums, as well as Quebec City's Naturalium.

At 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 3, astronaut, engineer, musician, athlete, pilot and McGill graduate Julie Payette will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Science from the Faculty of Engineering.
