Laughter is the best management

Published: 13 July 2006

So... did ya hear the one about the Executive Vice-President, Business Solutions, who attended the McGill Creative Thinking & Innovation Seminar for Managers? On tap July 19 to 21, this unique collaboration between the McGill Desautels Faculty of Management's International Executive Institute and the Just For Laughs festival teaches businesspeople to manage more effectively by using key comedic elements such as improvisation, timing and creativity.

"Creative thinking skills unleash incredible energy, unparalleled teamwork and a collective desire to keep changing for the better," said Fred Rosenzveig, a management trainer and consultant for Fortune 500 companies who is the course instructor. Last year's participants included managers from Verizon, Canada Post, Merck-Frosst, Rona, Sun Microsystems and Export Development Canada.

With its innovative approach, the seminar helps managers break through perceived limits and find practical solutions to business challenges.

The McGill International Executive Institute of the Desautels Faculty of Management has been offering seminars, programs and other advanced educational activities for managers and executives from corporate, governmental and non-profit organizations for more than 50 years. Each year, more than 1,500 individuals participate in programs offered in English, French and bilingual formats.
