McGill Jewish Law Students' Association (JLSA)
Monday, September 28, 2026, 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, JLSA Sukkah Lunch. The JLSA cordially invites you to lunch in the sukkah to celebrate sukkot. Enjoy a bite to eat under the schach, get a chance to shake the lulav and the etrog, and hear some words of wisdom about the holiday.
Truth and Reconciliation Events
Sun. Sept. 27, 12:00 PM: Building Peace on Indigenous Land with Église Unie Saint-Jean (110 Rue Sainte-Catherine E) Join Indigenous, settler, and newcomer communities for a dialogue workshop featuring young First Nations leaders, followed by community conversation
Wed., Sept. 30, 6:00 PM: Service of Truth and Reconciliation at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul September 30th is Canada’s National Day of Truth and Reconciliation (Orange Shirt Day). This day is dedicated to honouring Indigenous survivors of the residential school system and their families and communities. The Presbyterian church ran some of these schools, so it is particularly relevant for us to reflect on and repent of the harms that were done. We are honoured that Robert Spade, an Ojibwe musician and teacher at the Schulich School of Music (McGill) will be joining us for this event. If you have an orange shirt, please wear it!
Sat., Oct. 3, 1:00 pm - 3:00 PM: Sandwiches for Cabot Square Join Temple’s Truth and Reconciliation Committee (TRC) team after services on October 3, 2026. You’ll help prepare sandwiches for the committee to deliver to Cabot Square. The Cabot Square Project is an initiative run by the Native Women’s Shelter of Montreal. The project is a response to the displacement of Indigenous people in downtown Montreal and aims to provide support, safety, and advocacy for all vulnerable populations in and around Cabot Square. Please register by October 1, 2026. Space is limited to 12 participants.
