Timelines for SSHRC Insight Grants

• Application Deadline (Sponsor): October 1, 2025 (5PM)
  • FMHS Internal Peer Review (optional): September 1st, 2025
    • Internal Peer Review of the Full Application (comments expected within 2 weeks)
  • OSR Detailed Review (optional): September 17th, 2025 (10AM)
  • OSR deadline for mandatory Research Funding Checklist: September 29, 2025 (10AM)

Applicants are encouraged to access the SSHRC application form as early as possible.

FMHS Internal Peer Review

Applications submitted for FMHS Internal Peer Review (optional) by the above deadline will be coordinated for researchers located at McGill Downtown campus. Applicants from other units must request internal review through their respective research institutes. Internal review is required to be eligible for Internal Bridge Funding.

Tri-Agency Interdisciplinary Peer Review Committee

Insight Grant applicants whose research spans the mandate of more than one federal research funding agency (SSHRC, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council, and the Canadian Institutes of Health Research) can select a pilot Tri-Agency Interdisciplinary Peer Review Committee for the Insight Grants competition. This pilot committee will use a harmonized tri-agency peer review process that differs from the usual Insight Grant processes and the Tri-Agency Interdisciplinary Peer Review Committee’s evaluation criteria that differ from the usual process by this funding opportunity.
