The Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences of McGill University is a powerhouse of research and innovations driven by over 2000 basic and clinician scientists, 2000 graduate students, 1500 postdoctoral fellows and about 800 residents. Our research portfolio comprises world-class facilities located on campus and at affiliated teaching hospitals, sponsored by about $400M of active research funds (about 60% of McGill’s entire research activities).

The mandate of the Office of Research in our Faculty is to make our researchers thrive and grow their activities in the most creative, productive and impactful manner.

Our specific missions comprise:

  • Providing support to faculty members in securing research funding, new infrastructure and salary awards
  • Grow meaningful partnerships with other Faculties, research institutions, government bodies and the industry
  • Monitor the ethical conduct of research and adherence to research policies and procedures
