Russia's Intervention in Ukraine: A Roundtable Discussion
Thursday, March 3, 2022 16:30to17:45
Russia's military operation in Ukraine has begun despite concerted efforts to deter President Putin from violating the laws and norms governing the post-1945 international order. The intervention has been roundly condemned and generated unprecedented sanctions and displays of solidarity with Ukraine. This roundtable discussion, convened by graduate students of the Max Bell School of Public Policy, will unpack what the action tells the world about Russia's goals and military capability, assess the strength of the Ukrainian resistance, and analyze how international institutions - including NATO and the United Nations - are being tested.
