Title: Topological properties of the Frobenius-pullback for flat connections

Abstract: The first half of this talk will be expository and will be an introduction to flat connections in mixed characteristic and F-isocrystals. In the second half we will investigate the topological properties of the Frobenius pullback. In particular, we will establish that it is a continuous and open map. This will lead to a new perspective on previous results of ours on rigid flat connections. This
