Can I have a final exam format that involves a timed 3 hour exam ?

No. All final exams in the Faculty of Science must be in take home form, and allow submission for the entire 72 hour period following the start time as defined by the published Examination Schedule.

Can I replace my final exam with another form of assessment ?

Yes. The final exam could be replaced by a alternative final assessment with a deadline no later than May 1.  A revised course outline detailing such a change to the method of evaluation must be published by March 24.

Can I set a longer exam as the submission period is 72 hours ?

No.  The content of your final exam should be equivalent to a standard final, and be able to be completed in 3 hours.  The additional time is to accommodate challenges concerning internet accessibility and study/work conditions that students are working under.

Do I have to be available to answer questions for the entire 72 hour final exam period ?

No, it is advised that you notify students as to your availability, and to the types of question you will be prepared to answer.

What are the deadlines for assignments ?

For regular in term assignments, the deadline can be no later than April 14; however, you might consider penalty-free extensions to some later date no later than May 1. The deadline for submissions of a final assessment that replaces a final exam is May 1.
