Two Faculty members appointed Canada Research Chairs

The Faculty of Law is pleased to announce new and renewed support from the prestigious Canada Research Chair program for two professors.

Professor Jonas-Sébastien Beaudry has been named Canada Research Chair (Tier 2) in Health, Inclusion and Policy for a five-year term.

Professor Adelle Blackett, FRSC, Ad E, has been reappointed as Canada Research Chair (Tier 1) in Transnational Labour Law for a second seven-year term.

Essay Contest: Nappert Prize in International Arbitration 2024

Thanks to the generosity of Sophie Nappert (BCL’86, LLB’86), the Nappert Prize in International Arbitration is celebrating 10 years since its inauguration in 2014. The prize will be awarded by McGill University for the sixth time in 2024.

International Clerkships Program 2024-2025 - CALL FOR APPLICATIONS

McGill’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism (CHRLP) is currently accepting applications for:

a 12-month clerkship at the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA); a 10-month clerkship at the International Court of Justice (ICJ); a 4-month clerkship at the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (IACHR).

The clerkships are due to start in September 2024.

Tamara Thermitus and Hugo B. Lafrenière return to the Faculty of Law as visiting scholars

The Faculty of Law is delighted to welcome two accomplished jurists as visitors for the 2023-2024 academic year.  

Mtre Tamara Thermitus, Ad E, LLM’13, joined us as Boulton Senior Fellow on 1 September, and will be visiting until 31 August.  

Hugo B. Lafrenière, BCL/LLB’15, joined us as Boulton Junior Fellow on 1 August, and will be visiting until 31 July.
