McGill Law was ranked 33rd best worldwide by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by Subject. Since the ranking was introduced in 2017, McGill Law has consistently placed in the global top 35.

Avec une grande fierté mêlée de tristesse, la Faculté a appris la nomination du doyen Robert Leckey comme juge à la Cour supérieure du Québec. La vice-doyenne à l'enseignement Tina Piper a été nommée doyenne par intérim alors que la Faculté entame cette période de transition. 

 

In October 2024, Professor Rosalie Jukier was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal in recognition of her deeply rooted commitment to public service. In January 2025, she was appointed to one of the Faculty of Law’s Sir William C. Macdonald Chairs, which are among the oldest endowed positions at McGill. 

 

Jérémy Boulanger-Bonnelly a remporté le prix du meilleur article juridique lors du Concours juridique 2024 de la Fondation du Barreau du Québec. Son article primé, intitulé « Actions collectives et tribunaux administratifs : un vide juridictionnel à combler», a été publié dans la Revue de droit de McGill en 2022.

 

Lara Khoury, Ad E, a été nommée titulaire de la Chaire de recherche du Canada (niveau 1) en responsabilité civile, gouvernance de la santé et changement social. Elle détiendra cette chaire pour sept ans.

 

Adelle Blackett, FRSC, Ad E, has been appointed senior advisor to Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva. The ILO is a specialized agency of the United Nations devoted to advancing social justice and international labour rights. During her term at the ILO, set to begin on 5 February 2025, Professor Blackett will be the ILO focal point to the World Trade Organization, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund. She will serve as a cornerstone for research at the ILO, a role that will dovetail with the Tier 1 Canada Research Chair in Transnational Labour Law she has held at McGill since 2016.

 

La division du Québec de l’Association du Barreau canadien (ABC-Québec) a décerné la Médaille Paul-André-Crépeau à Pierre-Gabriel Jobin, Ad E, professeur Wainwright émérite de droit civil. Le professeur Pierre-Gabriel Jobin s’est joint à la Faculté de droit de McGill en 1976 et y a enseigné pendant plus de trente ans. Il a été nommé titulaire de la Chaire Wainwright en droit civil en 2007, puis titulaire émérite de la Chaire Wainwright à sa retraite en 2009. 

 

Alicia Hinarejos has been awarded a Jean Monnet Chair in European Union Law. Granted by the European Commission, these prestigious chairs aim to enhance teaching and research in European Union (EU) studies at higher education institutions worldwide. 

Allison Christians was reappointed as holder of the H. Heward Stikeman Chair in Taxation Law for a new seven-year term. A full professor whose teaching and research focuses on national and international tax law and policy issues, Professor Christians has held this chair since 2012. 

 

Marie Manikis a été reconduite comme titulaire d'une Chaire William Dawson pour un nouveau mandat de cinq ans. Décerné par McGill, ce titre reconnaît les talents universitaires d’exception en voie de devenir une autorité dans leur domaine.
