Italian Undergraduate Programs

Director of Undergraduate Studies/ Undergraduate Advisor (contact)

(Students may consult the eCalendar for complete information on program requirements and the class schedule for course availability.)

Subject to approval by the Department, courses offered with LLCU course codes may count toward fulfilling program requirements.

Note to new students coming from CEGEP:

If you understand Italian or one of its dialects or have some informal knowledge of the language but have never studied the grammar, you must register for ITAL 210 Elementary Italian. Otherwise, if you have completed Italian 101 then you may still register for Italian Beginners' ITAL 205 or Intensive Beginners' ITAL 206. If you have completed 201 then you must register for ITAL 215 or ITAL 216, Intermediate or Intensive Intermediate. If you have completed 301, then you may register for either ITAL 215 or ITAL 216. If you have completed four levels of Italian (101-401) at CEGEP then you must speak to an advisor to determine which Italian language courses above the 200 level are open to you.

THE DEPARTMENT RESERVES THE RIGHT TO TRANSFER A STUDENT TO A HIGHER LEVEL LANGUAGE COURSE IF IT IS DEEMED THAT THE COURSE FOR WHICH THE STUDENT HAS REGISTERED IS NOT APPROPRIATE FOR THE EXTENT OF HIS OR HER KNOWLEDGE OF THE LANGUAGE.

For all questions concerning choice of courses it is strongly recommended that you contact lucienne.kroha [at] mcgill.ca (Prof. Kroha).
