The McGill Institute of Air and Space Law was delighted to participate in the 16th Africa Regional Round of the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition, held on 22 and 23 May 2025 at the CSIR International Convention Centre in Pretoria, South Africa. Dr. Arnold Agaba (Postdoctoral Researcher and Chair the Research Group on African Air and Space Law) served as a judge during the competition, sharing his expertise and helping to inspire the next generation of African space lawyers.

Collaboration on Advanced Air Mobility with McGill-IASL
Presentation of the Letter of Engagement (LoE) at the DLR site in Cologne: The DLR Institute of Air Transport and the Institute of Air and Space Law (IASL) at McGill University in Montreal are initiating an interdisciplinary collaboration in the field of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). The aim is to jointly research the legal, technological and societal aspects of future air transport systems and to incorporate them into the design and evaluation of sustainable mobility solutions.

The New Horizons Conference: Mapping the Future of Air and Space Law
The Conference on New Horizons in Air and Space Law, held earlier this month, proved to be a groundbreaking event in air and space law. Jointly organized by the National University of Singapore's Centre for Technology, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence and the Law, the EW Barker Centre for Law and Business, and McGill University's Institute of Air and Space Law, this conference addressed the legal and policy challenges arising from emerging technologies in air and space.
