Current Status: 

  • Professor, Departments of Anesthesiology and Surgery, McGill University; 
  • Institute of Biomedical Engineering, Université de Montréal;
  • Chair, Research Committee, Society for Technology in Anesthesia (STA)
  •  Director, ITAG (intelligent technologies in anesthesia group) lab, McGill.

I usually supervise 4-6 MSc or PhD students per year: main focus AI, simulation, robotics and environmental impact of medicine.  I also sponsor and am the founder of the SteigerKI award: an award helping high school students in Germany to understand AI and develop projects.
