Gracen Brilmyer

Gracen Brilmyer (they/them/iel) is an Assistant Professor in the School of Information Studies at McGill University and the director of the Disability Archives Lab, which hosts multi-disciplinary projects that center the politics of disability and archives as well as how to imagine archival futures that are centered around disabled desires. Their research asks questions around power, representation, erasure, and impacts of/in archives for multiply marginalized disabled, sick, mad, chronically ill, blind, d/Deaf, neurodivergent, and other disabled people. They received their PhD in Information Studies with a certificate in Gender Studies from University of California Los Angeles in 2020 before starting at McGill. As a queer, nonbinary, Disabled person, they are particularly passionate about supporting multiply marginalized graduate students in navigating academia.
