Dorian Bandy

I am an associate professor jointly appointed in the departments of musicology and music performance. My academic work focuses on music of the 17th through 19th centuries (with a particular focus on Mozart and Beethoven) as well as intellectual history of the 18th and 19th centuries (with secondary interests including in philosophy, economics, literary history, and aesthetics). I have published a book on Mozart and numerous articles, book chapters, and reviews in leading venues. In addition to my academic work, I am also active as a performer. I would be delighted to help my mentees with any aspect of academic life; however, given my own strengths and interests, I’m particularly happy to help navigate challenges around writing, productivity, time management, and the job market.
