Creating Inclusive Workplaces for 2S/LGBTQIA+ Employees
Are you interested in creating a workplace that is welcoming and inclusive of 2S/LGBTQIA+ people but not sure where to start? This interactive, in-person workshop will allow participants to brainstorm barriers faced by 2S/LGBTQIA+ employees, then develop a “change one thing” action plan to take back to their units, teams, departments, or faculties.
By attending this workshop, participants will be better able to:
- Recognize stereotypes and systemic barriers faced by 2S/LGBTQIA+ individuals in the workplace
- Create strategies that remove barriers for 2S/LGBTQIA+ employees
- Apply concrete actions to create a workplace that is welcoming and inclusive of 2S/LGBTQIA+ people
Prerequisites: Participants who register for this workshop are expected to have a general understanding of 2S/LGBTQIA+ terminology and concepts. Before attending, registrants are strongly encouraged to watch Understanding and Supporting LGBTQ+ Employees, a 35-minute video-based course available through McGill’s LinkedIn Learning access.
