Faculty of Education Professors Recognized with Prestigious Research Chairs

McGill University, through the Office of the Provost and Vice-Principal (Academic), has conferred important internal recognition awards to three Faculty of Education professors in celebration of their outstanding scholarship and research excellence.

Dr. Dennis Wendt, Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology, and Dr. Joseph Levitan, Department of Integrated Studies in Education, have been named William Dawson Scholars (WDS). This award recognizes scholars who are exceptional researchers and innovators in their disciplines, and who have demonstrated the potential to become global leaders in their fields.

In addition, Dr. Gordon Bloom, from the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education, has been named a James McGill Professor (JMP). This award honours established scholars whose research contributions have had a significant impact and who are recognized as outstanding, innovative researchers and international leaders in their disciplines.

Congratulations also go out to Dr. Eve-Marie Quintin and Dr. Blane Harvey, who have each been renewed for a second term as William Dawson Scholars, in recognition of their continued excellence and leadership in their respective areas of research.
