6th Annual OMFS Research Day

The 6th OMFS Research Day was a great success with many in attendance and a captivating lecture! The research day, part of the Dr. Kenneth Bentley Lecture Series in OMFS, took place on October 27th at the Hotel Omni Mont-Royal. This year’s lecture was given by Dr. Leonard Kaban, Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Harvard Medical School, and Chief, Emeritus Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Service and Visiting Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, Massachusetts General Hospital. His lecture was entitled “Jaw Tumors in Children: What’s New? Biological Behaviour, Diagnosis and Management”. In total six graduate students presented their work and two were awarded prizes. 1st Prize: Haider Al-Waeli “Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs’ (NSAIDs) chronotherapy could enhance bone healing after surgery” 2nd Prize: Jordan Gigliotti “Nasotracheal intubation: The preferred airway in oral cavity microvascular reconstructive surgery?”
